Chief Justice John Marshall is, to this day, known for asserting the power of the Supreme Court and holding the Executive and Legislative branches accountable to the U.S. Constitution. Marshall also served as U.S. Secretary of State, a U.S. Congressman and as a soldier in the Revolution. He is buried at Richmond's Shockoe Hill Cemetery.

Enter from Hospital Street. The gate and the roads are narrow. The ceremony takes place at the John Marshall plot located in the front section of the cemetery, to the right of the entry gate. Please park on the side of the cemetery roads, pulling to the right to allow traffic to pass your vehicle.
