The Richmond Chapter is proud to host this pre-event to the Virginia SAR Annual Meeting.

Join us on Friday, February 9, at 11 a.m. to mark the graves of two of the Patriots listed on the Shockoe Hill Cemetery SAR Patriots Monument: Captain Philip Slaughter and Sergeant James Vaughn.

Captain Slaughter was a Culpeper Minute Man who answered Patrick Henry's call to march on Williamsburg, served under Colonel Daniel Morgan, wintered at Valley Forge and fought in the major battles of the war. Sergeant Vaughn served in the Virginia State Line and fulfilled a three-year term of service in the American Revolution.

This is a Virginia SAR Color Guard firing event and wreath laying ceremony.

Register yourself and your guests here.
