MARTIN'S STATION CELEBRATES TEA PARTY

The Martins Station Chapter, Sons of the American Revolution, held a special chapter meeting recently.  As part of the semi-quincentennial celebrations, the chapter commemorated the 250th anniversary of the Boston Tea Party on 26 October at the Rose Hill Church of God Church.  The actual event took place on 16 December, but in light of the upcoming holidays, the chapter held the event a little early.

After the business meeting, Pamela Eddy presented a lively program about the Boston Tea Party.  It covered many of the events and circumstances that led up to that famous event and a description of the event itself.  The highlight of the presentation was the serving of period type tea in an appropriate setting.  The program was open to member spouses and family.  About a dozen attended.

The pictures show Pam Eddy with Chapter President Tom Coker with colonial style tea caddies; Pam Eddy holding a tea pot prior to the program; and President Coker introducing Pam and the program to some of the participants.
