P. GREGORY SPECK

P. Gregory Speck passed away on October 11, 2023.

Gregory was an author, celebrity journalist, New York City socialite and world traveler. After many years of living in New York City and traveling to all 50 states and over 100 countries, he returned home to the Shenandoah Valley, which will be his final resting place. He attended the Anthony-Seeger Campus School, Woodberry Forest School, Amherst College and New York University and was an Eagle Scout.

He was preceded in death by his spouse, Nadia Pinky Drobner Speck, and is survived by his sister, Kendall Smith.

A few of his crowning achievements were his book, The Revelation of Prophecy as History, and his 1985 Interview of Katharine Hepburn, published in Interview Magazine. He was also particularly proud of his prized exotic taxidermy collection of over 400 exhibits. Gregory brought a wealth of culture with him to the City of Harrisonburg and his untimely passing is a loss to the community.
